Meet Albert
Lifelong resident. Local builder. Proven leader.
Albert Nickerson has spent his whole life in Kent County. He grew up in Lynch, graduated from Kent County High School in 1987, and went right to work on farms and in mechanics before starting in construction, where he has built his local business for more than 30 years. His family's roots on the Eastern Shore go back generations, and he has served as Kent County Commissioner since 2022.
“As a lifelong resident, I have worked to preserve the best of Kent County while building a stronger future for our families, farms, businesses, and communities.”Albert Nickerson

Real Results
Since joining the Board of County Commissioners in 2022, Albert has focused on the things Kent County families count on every day.
A New Middle School for Kent County
Albert pushed for more state school construction funding, waited for the final numbers and the final plan, and made sure it worked for Kent County taxpayers and then cast the deciding vote to build the new Kent County Middle School.
A Stronger Financial Position
During Albert's first term, the county's General Fund balance grew from about $16 million to more than $28 million, giving Kent County the flexibility to invest in its future.
Emergency Services You Can Count On
As commissioner, Albert supported opening Kent County's new Emergency Services headquarters and improving EMS stations around the county, so help is close by around the clock.
Homes for Local Seniors
Albert supported $1.5 million in county funding for Millington Senior Village, which will bring 52 one-story apartments for seniors to the old Millington Elementary School site.

A day in the life of Albert Nickerson. Albert says the job mirrors being a commissioner: "Every action that we take has a reaction, and nothing goes as planned, just like in the construction world." You set goals for the day, handle what comes up, and work hard to get it right.
